Not a reporter/ news journalist, but a journal writer journalist – finally joined the bandwagon!
It’s not something I write in religiously; I use it to jot down thoughts whenever I’m in the mood (or need an outlet).
Highly recommend if you want a little time capsule of yourself.
One thing I have found about being an introvert, is that everyone assumes you like to be by yourself.
But that’s not always true. I crave social interaction, and enjoy going out and spending quality time with friends.
I just need to recharge my batteries in between (yes, this is where the alone part does come into play).
Complex and contradictory – that’s me!
If you’re not happy with your life, make a change; if you do, the possibilities are endless. If you don’t, then you are living your future.
I used to wonder…
How do lovers end up becoming haters?
How do people who were at the center of your life end up becoming strangers?
How do close knit friends end up becoming mere acquaintances?
I wonder, what happens to all those feelings, shared experiences and memories?
I’ve experienced all of the above, and still have no answers.
But I guess it’s the same way that a stranger can become your closest confidante.
A casual friendship can become your strongest and most enduring relationship .
A chance encounter can mean you meet your soul mate.
An instant connection can be felt with a person you just met.
I wonder at the magic of human interactions.
I’m not usually one for writing goals or New Year’s resolutions.
But this year, I had a feeling that something needed to change in my life; I needed to push myself outside of my comfort zone and expand my social circle, and this became the aim of 2021.
I’m only three months in, but in these months I have for the first time in my life:
– Gone to a social badminton event by MYSELF where I knew NO ONE
– Gone on a blind date
– Went to a games night (by myself again, knowing no one)
– Got asked for my number by a stranger (and initiated a coffee date!)
These things may not seem like major events, but as a shy, awkward introvert, let me tell you: they are!
Each event was scary (sweat inducing, anxiety causing, nervous laughter type of scary); but it is so worth it.
The easiest way to scare a guy off… is to tell him you’re looking for a husband.
Sometimes the easy decision isn’t the right decision.
Sometimes the right decision is the hard decision.
Sometimes the hard decision makes you wonder if it was the right decision.
Sometimes the right decision is the scary decision.
Sometimes a decision is just a decision.
Just go along for the ride, and enjoy it while it lasts x

My heart is healing.

Counting sheep does not help.
Drinking goji berry tea does not help.
Listening to podcasts does not help.
Reading does not help.
And playing on my phone definitely does not help.
